left brain, right brain

Okay: so I have no idea whether left-brain/right-brain is valid or not, but this picture in the Herald-Sun story is pretty cool.
Spinning lady

Now, supposedly if you're right-brained you see her spinning clockwise and if you're left-brained you see her spinning counter-clockwise.

That's sort of interesting, but it was more interesting for me to see it the "wrong" (for me, counter-clockwise) way. I could only see her spinning clockwise for the longest time--until I stared at the periphery and then all of a sudden she popped around.

Entertainment when I should be doing other things...

It only goes couter-clockwise for me... that's weird... how do you see it clockwise?? Things like this intrigue me. THe other thing that intrigues me is that no one but us apparently reads this blog! (:

Yeah, it is kinda fun to write back and forth amongst ourselves :)

I can get it to go either direction by looking away and looking back. What does that mean? Scary. I think it means it's programmed to switch every few seconds?? Or can my eyes/brain really make that happen??!! And yes, you have plenty of readers/lurkers, I do believe! And enjoying while we read. :)

On second comment, I'm with lois... it seemed like it switched every 4-6 turns or so... Does some programmer out there know how to hack it and see if that's what it's doing?
And thanks for the assurance, Lois that at least you are reading! (:

Yeah, I can get it both ways too, if I look away. We must be totally special, being able to see it both ways. Either that, or it's a hoax.

Oh, and I ALWAYS read your blog. I'm just too exhausted from my life to comment - haha.

See you this next Sun at Sacramento, LCS??

OK, LCS, I have a confession. I have been reading your blog for a while and this is my first post. (Emily told me about it.) Sorry I am so lazy, but I had to respond to this. It is so cool.

When I first looked at it, it was going clockwise then it switched so I waited and waited to see if it would switch again. Nothing! Finally, I covered one eye and it switched every time. So interesting! It must be a correlation between eye dominance and brain dominance which is all way over my head; but I love it.

Counter, then clock, then counter, then clock. Glad I'm not the only mixed up one. I was intrigued how the rhythm of her spinning was different between the two directions....chew on that if you have some time to waste!

Another faithful reader here. :) So far she only goes clockwise for me. I'll check back in 4-6 hours. ;)

What I want to know is why they had to use to the girl off the mud flaps of big rigs?

Rest assured, there are more readers out here than you think! This is really cool/weird/frustrating! I've wasted more time than I should trying to get her to go the other direction... In my case she only goes clockwise! I've tried covering my eye, etc but nothing gets her to change direction! Fun post, though! :)

I've been trying and trying...I cannot see it going counter-clockwise. Why is that?? a little freaky really that some of us can only see it the one way.

i see both too...
& besides being puzzled about that
i am also wondering why we can see her nipples?
what kid of brained is that?
or is it to ensure that men will try it too?
the world is surely a mystery...

I read your blog too!! I can only get her to go clock wise...what do the 2 brain sides mean? I assume mine is likes structure and having a plan!

Ha! i agree, what is with the mud-flaps model, anyway? Soon we will have another post so we won't have to see a swirling lady with no clothes everytime we pull up this blog! (doesn't that seem like just the cliff-hanger you've all been waiting for?!!)
Thanks for your responses, everyone! Glad you're reading!

What's wrong with the mud-flaps model? I have been watching her spin around for close to 4 hours now...it is great. Who cares which way she is spinning? More posts like this might attract more readers.

Update from Lois: Ok, now there are times I CANNOT get her to go counter-clockwise! Is the program stuck???! Or....does it depend on what we've been doing before we come to the computer; have we been exercising our brain in a right-brain or a left-brain activity?! Anyway, it's been worth checking back to read the funny comments. :)

Wow, thanks for all of the comments. Guess I need to post more pictures of nude, busty spinning women to really get folks to engage--thanks for the hint, Amy's Husband.

Glad to know you're reading--I'll let the other, smarter sister post soon so that you'll no longer think you're stuck in an endless spin out behind a semi...

Btw Lois and others interested, from the comments on the original spinning centerfold, it seems that most do see it clockwise. If you care to stare at it longer, go to the original site and read all about it there.

What a visual trip. At first it was clock wise and then I scrolled down and then back up and then it was counter. Weird

this was weird...I could only see it clock wise..until I read the part about it also going counter-clock wise....then it flipped around....

does this mean my brain is broken??

I agree with Amy's husband. We don't really care which way she spins, as long as she keeps on doing it.
FTR, for me she was clockwise until i read the comments and deliberately tried to see it the other way; then i could switch back and forth.
Geeky note re the programming, in case someone cares: she's not actually spinning at all; it's just a 2-D silhouette moving back and forth and your brain is interpreting it as spinning...
